HomeMy WebLinkAboutCAO-07-055 - Oracle/Peoplesoft Software Licence & Services Agreementi i ~~ ---~e.. ~~~~~~, ~~~~~ iii ~ ~~r~~~~r' REPORT Report To: Finance and Corporate Services Committee Date of Meeting: November 19, 2007 Submitted By: Laura Mann, HR PeopleSoft Administrator Prepared By: Laura Mann, HR PeopleSoft Administrator Wards}Involved: N/A Date of Report: November 8, 2007 Report No.: CAO-07-055 Subject: ORACLElPEOPLESOFT SOFTWARE LICENCE AND SERVICES AGREEMENT RECOMMENDATION: That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute an amendment satisfactory to the City Solicitor to the City's contract with Oracle Corporation Canada Inc. allowing the existing software to be used for an increased number of employees and continuing present support and maintenance levels on that new portion of the software licence for a one time licence amount of $29,780. and an increase in present support and maintenance amounts of $6,551.60 per annum. BACKGROUND: This is a common software contract requirement and it has been reviewed by the City's Legal department. Oracle licensing is graduated based on the targets set up in the contract and the number of employees on the system. The document is stating that the City's employee count has exceeded the Oracle contract Program Licenses amount and an additional payment is required. REPORT: Oracle/PeopleSoft, the City of Kitchener's payroll and human resources software application, has successfully been in use since 1993. Throughout the years, more and more modules have been accessed and put to good use: time and labour, training, and self-service. Should this contract not be signed, the City will not be licensed to use the application. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: A one time license amount of $29,780. and an increase in present support and maintenance amounts of $6,551.60 per annum to be financed out of capital budget.
