Subject: T07-103 -Supply and Delivery of Entrance Mats
RECOMMENDATION
That the City of Kitchener's portion of the City of Guelph tender Ref. No. 07-126, Supply and
Delivery of Entrance Mats, be awarded to Cintas Canada Limited, Guelph, ON for a one (1) year
term at the estimated annual cost of $25,767.30, plus P.S.T. and G.S.T., with an option to renew
for a further three (3) one-year terms.
BACKGROUND
This is a co-operative tender issued by the City of Guelph on behalf of the Guelph Co-operative
Purchasing Group (GCPG) and the Co-operative Purchasing Group of Waterloo Region
(CPG~VR). Participants included the City of Guelph, County of Wellington, Guelph Hydro,
Guelph General Hospital, Elliot Community, and Wellington Centre from the Guelph Co-
operative Purchasing Group (GCPG} and the City of Kitchener, Waterloo-Wellington
Community Care Access Centre and Wilfrid Laurier University from the Co-operative
Purchasing Group of Waterloo Region (CPGWR}.
REPORT
Tenders were requested from ten (10) potential bidders and posted on the City of Guelph
website. By the closing date of December 6th, 2007, three (3) bids had been received.
The following tenders were received:
Cintas Canada Ltd. Guelph, ON $25,767.30
Unifirst Canada Ltd. London, ON $41,392.00
Swan Dust Control Waterloo, ON $51,964.90
The overall value of this Co-operative contract is $125,000. per year.
The tenders were reviewed by C. Rendell, Manager, Purchasing Agent, City of Guelph, on
behalf of both Co-operatives, as well as M. Palmer, Buyer, City of Kitchener.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Funding will be provided from various City operating indices as the entrance mats are used by a
variety of facilities within the City.
The price has decreased 8°~o for 2008 based on the previous year's usage report.
