Eichhorn, J.D. (John) McGuire, Lawrence McNaught, Bill Poole, Suzanne Ronald, Jamie Vasey, Councillor Kelly Galloway, Cheryl York, Don Chapman, Tammy Foster REGRETS: Sherryl Petricevic, Fitzroy Vanderpool GUESTS: Troy Speck - Manager, Corporate Services, Ann Pappert – General Manager, Community Services Meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Peter Hinchcliffe, outgoing Co-chair 1.0 NEW BUSINESS 1.1 2007 ACAC Members Self Introductions 1.2 Troy Speck – General Manager Corporate Services – City of Kitchener Advisory Committees Troy presented an overview (Q and A) on City advisory committees. Topics included roles ? and responsibilities, reporting relationships and scope of City committees. Advisory committees report to Council through written reports. A report must be authorized by a resolution passed by a majority of the committee members present at a meeting with sufficient quorum. Kitchener’s “Healthy Community Plan” (HCP) recommends a review of all advisory committees in 2007. Print material was distributed with all of the pertinent information. 1.3 Co-Chair – Nominations & Appointment Suzanne Ronald nominated Paul Eichhorn who declined due to other obligations ? Bill Poole nominated Jennifer Breithaupt, referring to her previous membership on the ? Committee. Jennifer accepted the nomination. Alison Burkett nominated Bill Poole, who also declined. No further nominations they were received. Jennifer was acclaimed as co-chair for 2007. ? 1.4 Downtown Advisory Committee: ACAC Representative to DAC – Nominations & Appointment As there was no representative from the Downtown Advisory Committee present, Cheryl ? York gave an overview of DAC’s work. Len Carter also noted that the KDBA is very active and involved with DAC. Cheryl advised that the Representative on DAC would have to commit 2 hours each month as the meetings are held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month. Bill Poole expressed his interest, as did Suzanne Ronald. After some discussion, Bill ? withdrew in favour of Suzanne. Suzanne was acclaimed as the Representative from ACAC for DAC. 1 February 2007 - ACAC Minutes ARTS AND CULTURE ADVISORY COMMITTEE KITCHENER 2.0 BUSINESS ARISING 2.1 Community Services Dept., Arts and Culture Section – Overview Cheryl York, Arts & Culture Co-ordinator, provided an overview of the Arts & Culture program. An orientation binder was distributed to members of the committee which contained contact lists, meeting dates, Minutes, Agendas, Terms of Reference, and program information. Current Projects – Updates Cheryl gave an overview and update on the following programs: The Hanson Avenue Twin Pad Arena Complex - Public Art Program(% for art policy) ? Artist In Residence ? Rotunda Gallery ? Culture Plan II ? Industrial Artifacts ? 3.0 APROVAL OF MINUTES AND REVIEW OF AGENDA Motion by Lawrence, seconded by Jennifer, to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2006 meeting. All in favour; carried. 4.0 FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS 4.1 ACAC Work Plan – Overview A draft 2007 work plan was included in the orientation binder showing standard quarterly ? reporting topics. Further consideration of projects and issues for 2007 will be included as they are identified. 4.2 Provisional Grants Applications – Review – March 20, 2007 Cheryl asked that a sub-committee be formed to review Arts Applications applications. Len ? Carter, Jamie Vasey and Jennifer Breithuapt volunteered to serve as the sub-committee. The first meeting will be held March 5, 2007 at 4:30, in the Graham Room. NOTE: Agenda items will be received from committee members up to March 13, 2007.
