HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRPS-08-029 - Sign and Fence Variances - 68 Isabella Street & 413 Highland Road West Report To: Date of Meeting: Submitted By: Committee of the Whole February 25, 2008 Prepared By: Ward(s) Involved: Date of Report: Report No.: Subject: Dianne Gilchrist - Secretary-Treasurer Committee of Adjustment Dianna Hartleib 4&5 February 19, 2008 CRPS - 08 - 029 Fence and Sign Variances - 68 Isabella Street and 413 Highland Road West RECOMMENDATION: That the application of Irving Underman Limited (SG 2008-001 413 Highland Road West) requesting permission to erect a fascia sign with a projection of 0.61 m (2') from the wall rather than the permitted projection of 0.4m (1.31') and permission to erect a ground supported sign with a height of 5.64m (18.5') rather than the permitted height of 4.5m (14.76'), on Part Lot 38, Plan 786, being Part 1, Reference Plan 58R-1 089, 413 Highland Road West, Kitchener, Ontario, BE APPROVED. - and - That the application of Daniel & Joanne Leclerc (FN 2008-001 68 Isbella Street) requesting permission to locate a 1.82m (5.9') high wooden fence, 0.33m (1.08') from the side lot line abutting Commonwealth Place rather than the required 1.52m (4.9'), on Lot 96, Registered Plan 58M-344, 68 Isabella Street, Kitchener Ontario, BE APPROVED, subject to the following condition: 1 . That the owners shall install landscaping between the fence and the lot line abutting Commonwealth Place, as shown on the plan submitted with this application. REPORT: The Committee of Adjustment met as a standing committee of City Council on Tuesday February 19, 2008, to consider two applications: 1 pursuant to Chapter 630 (FENCES) and the other pursuant to Chapter 680 (SIGNS), of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code. The recommendations above are forwarded to you on behalf of the Committee of Adjustment for your consideration. D. Gilchrist
