Subject: Film Production Agreement
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute a Film Production Agreement with
PTV Film Productions Inc., the Homer Watson House Foundation, and with any other
parties City Legal Counsel deems advisable, said agreement to be to the satisfaction of
the City Solicitor.
BACKGROUND:
A private film production company called PTV Productions Inc. has, at the instance of the
History Television Channel, approached City staff and Homer Watson House Foundation staff
regarding a proposal to feature the Homer Watson House as part of a television series on the
restoration of Canadian heritage sites. The Homer Watson House was the home of the
esteemed Canadian painter Homer Watson, and is now aCity-owned property that has a
heritage designation. The film production company wishes to film the process of renovations
required in order to prevent water leakage through the clerestory windows and the roof at the
Homer Watson House property.
REPORT:
Staff have finalized all conditions of filming with the film production company and with the
Homer Watson House Foundation.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
N/A
CONCLUSION:
Execution of a formal film production agreement between the parties is required prior to the
commencement of filming.
