DOON VALLEY GOLF EXPANSION - AUTHORITY TO SIGN
DOCUMENTATION
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute and, if necessary, permit registration
on title, documentation pertaining to those matters referenced below to satisfy approval
requirements relating to the Doon Valley Golf Course Expansion, provided same is
satisfactory to the City Solicitor, namely:
1) The City granting a Conservation Easement over a portion of the Doon Valley Golf
Course lands in favour of the Region of Waterloo;
2) The City granting a 30 metre wide easement or license over a portion of the Doon
Valley Golf Course lands in favour of the City of Cambridge for a public
recreational walking trail; and
3) The City conveying a road widening across the Fountain Street frontage of a
portion of the Doon Valley Golf Course lands in favour of the Region of Waterloo.
BACKGROUND:
The Doon Valley Golf Course Expansion Business Plan was approved by Council in May 2007.
The expansion approval was contingent on the City receiving all the required agency approvals,
including the approval requirements mandated by the Ontario Municipal Board.
REPORT:
The Ontario Municipal Board at the conclusion of the Hearing issued Orders establishing
conditions relating to the City of Kitchener's successful application for the expansion of Doon
Valley Golf Course. Three of those conditions require either the granting of easements or the
conveyance of land as listed in the recommendation section of this report. Development and
execution of the necessary documentation to give effect to these transfers is required in the next
couple months.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There is no cost associated with the development of the necessary documentation referenced in
the recommendation. The financial implications pertaining to the granting of these easements
and the conveyance of the land are within the scope of the approved Business Plan for this
project which was previously presented to Council and approved.
CONCLUSION:
Support of the recommendation will allow staff and the project consultants to continue to garner
the necessary approvals required to commence construction.
