REQUEST TO OPERATE A MIDWAY - 707 OTTAWA
STREET SOUTH - OCTOBER 2-5, 2008
RECOMMENDATION:
That Homeniuk Rides Inc. Be granted permission to operate a Midway at Weiland Ford, 707
Ottawa Street South on October 2-5, 2008, subject to the following:
Date of Operation Hours of Operation
Thursday, October 2 3:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday, October 3 3:00 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Saturday, October 4 10:00 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Sunday, October 5 Noon - 9 p.m.
That the music at the Midway be turned down at 8:00 p.m. excepting those evenings preceding
a school day when it shall be turned off at 9:00 p.m.; and
That the music be turned off one hour before closing time on the evenings preceding a non-
school day; and further,
That the required licence be obtained prior to operating the Midway.
BACKGROUND:
Council approval must be obtained prior to a licence being issued for the operation of a Midway.
Council policy directs that the residents be notified prior to the Council meeting to allow time for
any concerns to be heard.
REPORT:
Attached is a letter from Linda Homeniuk, Vice President of Homeniuk Rides Incorporated
requesting permission to operate a midway at Weiland Ford, 707 Ottawa Street South from
October 2-5, 2008.
The applicant has indicated that the Midway will be sponsoring the Kitchener-Waterloo Food
Bank.
Council has approved similar requests in the past.

COMMUNICATIONS:
Property owners within 120 metres of the proposed midway have been notified.
