BACKGROUND
The Class Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Design for Springdale Sanitary Pumping
Station has been initiated to address operational issues which currently exist. The Springdale
station consists of a steel prefabricated pumping station with a separate wet well. The station is
equipped with sewage ejectors that use compressed air to operate the system and as such, are
inefficient. The station does not have a bypass or overflow and is not equipped with standby
power. The project scope includes the generation and evaluation of various alternatives to
improve the overall condition and function of Springdale Sanitary Pumping Station consistent
with the Environmental Assessment Act. A preliminary design of the selected alternative is also
included in the scope of this project.
