RECOMMENDATION
That tender T06-074, Safety Equipment and Supplies, be awarded to Safety Today Inc.,
Brantford, at their tendered price of $69,765.33, including P.S.T. & G.S.T.
BACKGROUND
The purpose of this tender is to provide safety equipment such as safety headwear, safety glasses,
traffic vests, hearing protection, etc., to ensure safety on the job at all times.
REPORT
Tenders were requested from seventeen (17) potential bidders, advertised publicly in The
Record, on the City of Kitchener website and the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering
Information System. By the closing date of Thursday September 21~r, 2006, sixteen (16) tenders
had been received.
The two low bids received from Drollis Safety Supply Co. Ltd., Burlington and Fisher Scientific
(Safety), Nepean, were incomplete and rejected. The third low bid from Safety Today Inc,
Brantford was complete and bid all fifty-nine items. Safety Today Inc. is our current provider of
safety equipment.
