The Heritage greens Lauvn Bowling Club Junior program has applied to the Athletics
section to become n affiliated minor sport group and to be added to the City's Minor
sport Third Party Liability insurance policy.
REPORT:
The Heritage greens Lawn Bov~riing Club is an incorporated not-for-profit volunteer
organization that provides programs for youth and adults, s well a for vision impaired
and persons rho are physically challenged. The Club has been inexistence since 1931
and has been incorporated since 199. It i financially stable and sustainable.
The Club operates and maintains ~ lawn bowling greens at Rosenberg Park where it
has a club house and a small mechanical building since 1991,
Affiliation gill benefit the club by providing greater exposure for its youth programs to
the community through city communication and registration modesR Affiliation uuiil
improve their opportunities to recruit younger players, and it gill enable the club to
obtain donations for youth athletes from specialized sources. currently, the club has a
small number of junior members. This move to affiliation gill open many opportunities
for elevating the sport and improve its popularity v~rith younger athletes.
The flub has hosted many provincial championships and some National events. This
year itill host the senior National harnpionhip in August.
The flub has an outstanding loan ~vith the pity of I~Citchener for irnprover~ents to the
building, The club has re-paid ell but ~,DOO of the original $0,000 loan. The final
payment gill be made this year,
In BOOB, the flub completed its first strategic Plan to guide it into the next five years.
The lula meets the requirements of the Minor portAffiliation Policy.
