BACKGROUND The sanitary forcemain for the above noted project has generally reached the end of its useful life and requires full replacement. The existing forcemain route is in the roadway and the length requiring replacement is approximately 240m. The approximate limit of forcemain replacement runs from house numbers 49 to106 Stoke Drive. The project scope includes the design and reconstruction of the sanitary forcemain. The project scope also includes a preliminary geotechnical investigation to explore the use of trenchless technologies for the forcemain replacement. It is anticipated that construction will occur in July and August of 2009. REPORT In accordance with Chapter 170 of the Municipal Code pertaining to the Selection of Professional Services/Consultants, a Consultant's Review Committee was established consisting of S. Allen, Manager, Engineering Design and Approvals, K. Mick, Design and Approvals Engineer, and L. Gordon, Chief Purchasing Officer. Expressions of interest were requested from three (3) Consulting firms regarding to this project. By the closing date of Monday, March 23, 2009, two (2) responses had been received. The Review Committee evaluated the submissions and elected to award the project to MTE Consultants Inc., Kitchener.
