SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR MIDWAY -120 PIONEER DRIVE -JUNE 4-
7, 2009
RECOMMENDATION:
That Homeniuk Rides Inc. be granted permission to operate a Midway at the Optimist Sports
Park, 120 Pioneer Drive on June 4-June 7, 2009, subject to the following:
Date of Operation Hours of Operation
Thursday, June 4 3:30 p.m. -10:00 p.m.
Friday, June 5 3:30 p.m. -11:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 6 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 7 Noon to 9:00 p.m.
That the music at the Midway be turned down at 8:00 p.m. excepting those evenings preceding
a school day when it shall be turned off at 9:00 p.m.; and
That the music be turned off one hour before closing time on the evenings preceding anon-
school day; and further,
That the required licence be obtained prior to operating the Midway.
BACKGROUND:
Council approval must be obtained prior to a licence being issued for the operation of a Midway.
Council policy directs that any request be referred to the Finance and Corporate Services
Committee and that the residents be notified prior to the next Council meeting to allow time for
any concerns to be heard.
REPORT:
Correspondence from Linda Homeniuk, Vice President of Homeniuk Rides Incorporated has
been received requesting permission to operate a midway at 120 Pioneer Drive, Optimist Sports
Park from June 4-June 7, 2009.

The applicant has indicated that the Midway will be sponsoring the Optimist Club of Southwest
Kitchener.
Council has approved similar requests in the past.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
COMMUNICATIONS:
Property owners within 120 metres of the proposed midway have been notified.
