f~evelopmen~ & Tecfrnrcal SerUrces REPORT T0: Development & Technical Services Committee DATE OF MEETING: June 1, 2009 SUBMITTED BY: Alain Pinard, Interim Director of Planning PREPARED BY: Brian Bateman, Senior Planner (519-741-2869) WARD(S) INVOLVED: Ward 1 -Councillor Smola DATE OF REPORT: May 21, 2009 REPORT NO.: DTS-09-082 SUBJECT: Acceptance of a Road Widening Dedication - 55 Woolwich Street RECOMMENDATION: That the Corporation of the City of Kitchener accept the conveyance of a 3.904 metre wide parcel of land across the frontage of 55 Woolwich Street, legally described as Part of Lot 59, GCT, identified as Part 4 on the attached draft Reference Plan prepared by MacDonald-Tamblyn Surveying Ltd., dated April 21, 2009, free and clear of encumbrances, for a future road widening, on terms and conditions satisfactory to the City Solicitor. REPORT: Under applications B2008-018 and B2009-024 the Committee of Adjustment approved a consent to sever two parcels of land from 55 Woolwich Street in Bridgeport. It has come to the attention of staff that a road widening dedication (Part 4 of the attached reference plan) is required along this section of Woolwich Street but was inadvertently missed as a condition of severance approval. In lieu of requesting a formal amendment to the conditions of the consent to sever the property owner has agreed to convey the required road widening to the City and wishes to complete the conveyance as soon as possible. Approval from Council to accept the road widening is required to complete the conveyance. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The City will pay the costs to registerthe transfer of land for the road widening.
