HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRPS-09-071 - Noise Exemption - 42 Evergreen Cres REPORT REPORT TO: Finance and Corporate Services Committee DATE OF MEETING: June 1, 2009 SUBMITTED BY: Troy Speck, General Manager of Corporate Services PREPARED BY: Shayne Turner, Director of By-law Enforcement WARD(S) INVOLVED: Forest-Rockway DATE OF REPORT: May 21, 2009 REPORT NO.: CRPS-09-071 SUBJECT: EXEMPTION TO CHAPTER 450 (NOISE) - VICTOR JANNERT, 42 EVERGREEN CRESCENT RECOMMENDATION: That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to Mr. Victor Jannert for a wedding celebration to be held at his residence at 42 Evergreen Crescent, on Saturday June 20, 2009, between the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M.. BACKGROUND: Mr. Jannert is holding a wedding reception at his residence on the evening of Saturday June 20, 2009. Weather permitting, Mr. Jannert is considering having a band play in their backyard during the evening. As such, he wishes to apply for an exemption to the City’s Noise By-law. REPORT: Mr. Jannert assures staff that he has informed all of his neighbours in the area, and many will likely be attending the event. Mr. Jannert will also provide information for a contact person that staff could speak to during the evening if necessary. Staff advise that they have no indication of previous issues at this address FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None identified at this time. ê ó ï COMMUNICATIONS: No Corporate Communications required. However, Mr. Jannert has informed the adjacent neighbourhood of the event. CONCLUSION: Based on the circumstances surrounding this event, the By-law Enforcement Division does not object to this request for an exemption.
