The main playground structures are mostly wooden and need to be replaced so that we can efficiently maintain them to meet CSA standards. The existing playground at Argyle Park is being upgraded due to its' age and condition to meet the community needs and expectations for the playground. The existing main play structure is mostly wooden and needs to be replaced so that we can efficiently maintain it to meet CSA standards. Tremaine, Huck, Lancaster and Foxglove Parks are all new parks which are currently being developed within the City of Kitchener. Tremaine, Huck and Foxglove will include main play structures for ages 18 months to 12 years, along with swing sets and independent play features. These new parks also incorporated accessible features into the play structures. The play structure for Lancaster Park will be more focused on tot use due to the size and location of the parkette. REPORT: Proposals were requested from twelve (12) potential suppliers, advertised publicly in The Record, on the City of Kitchener website and the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information System. By the closing date of Friday May 29t", 2009, five (5) proposals had been received. A Committee consisting of R. Fairbairn, Operations Supervisor, A. Dewitt, Landscape Architect Intern, P. Hawthorne, Parks Maintainer -Services, and R. Kruppa, Buyer, was established to evaluate the proposals based on play value, safety, cost, durability, appearance and warranty.
