EXEMPTION TO CHAPTER 450 (NOISE) - W.C.C. No. 364,
84 WESTMEADOW DRIVE
RECOMMENDATION:
That an exemption to Chapter 450 (Noise) of the City of Kitchener Municipal Code be granted to
Waterloo Condominium Complex No. 364 at 84 Westmeadow Drive on August 29, 2009,
between the hours of 3:00 PM and 10:30 PM, for a community party.
BACKGROUND:
W.C.C. No. 364, a condominium complex of 17 residential units, is holding a community party
on Saturday August 29, 2009, within their complex property. Live music will be playing
throughout the afternoon and evening. As such, the condo complex is requesting an exemption
to Chapter 450 (Noise).
REPORT:
It appears that this is the first such event that has been held at this address. Thus, there is no
history known to the By-law Enforcement Division, to gauge the potential impact. However, staff
advise that they do not have record significant issues at this address. Also, this type of event is
not unlike similar neighbourhood events held throughout residential areas.
The event organizers advise that they will undertake to advise the neighbouring residential area
in advance of the event.

CONCLUSION:
Based on the circumstances surrounding this event, the By-law Enforcement Division does not
object to this request for an exemption.
