SUBJECT: P09-006 -Preferred Supplier Agreement, The AUD and Golf Courses
RECOMMENDATION:
That proposal P09-006, Preferred Supplier Agreement, The AUD and Golf Courses, be awarded
to Molson Canada, Toronto, Ontario at their adjusted proposed revenue amount to the City of
$145,000. for an initial eighteen (18) month period, with options for three (3} additional one (1)
year periods, subject to mutual agreement, and further that the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to execute a contract satisfactory to the City Solicator.
BACKGROUND:
The AUD and the Golf Courses require a beverage supplier for the provision of alcoholic
beverages and related advertising materials, and also for the provision of partnering with the
City to support venue activities, promoting their products at City venues, in addition to
supporting various functions taking place throughout the year.
REPORT:
Proposals were advertised publicly in The Record, on the City of Kitchener website and the
Internet through the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information System. Three (3)
potential bidders downloaded the proposal documents, and by the closing date of Monday May
11t", 2009, two (2) proposals had been received.
The following proposals were received:
Labatt Breweries of Canada
Molson Canada
London, ON. $ 80,000.
Toronto, ON. $137,000. $145,000.

A subsequent meeting with Molson Canada resulted in a marginal increase in the value of their
proposal.
The proposals were evaluated by K. Kugler, Director of Enterprises, G. Hastings, Manager of
Golf Courses, C. Miller, Supervisor of Food and Beverage, and S. Rudak, Buyer, who concur
with the above recommendation.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This is a revenue generating initiative, therefore, there is no financial impact to the City.
