Survey Update and Who Are You, Kitchener? ? Shelley updated the group on the upcoming Environics Survey and subsequently the ‘Who Are You, Kitchener?’ survey. These occur every 4 years with a goal to determine residents satisfaction with local government, and their views on priorities. ? The ‘Who Are You, Kitchener?’ segmentation quiz was passed around for everyone to complete. Survey responses designate residents into groups: Suburban Stability Seeker, Community Activator, Urban Promoter, Small Town Stallwart, Small Town Protector and Fringe Dweller. ? Additional details regarding past surveys as well as information regarding the segmentation groups is available at www.who-are-you.kitchener.ca ? On a separate note, Mini Kitchener was also handed out to all in attendance. Understanding our diversity helps ensure we are considering the needs of all our residents, by including everyone in important decisions and offering relevant programs and services. We’ve reduced Kitchener to a village of 100 people so it’s easier for us to understand and appreciate our diversity. Additional information regarding Mini Kitchener can be found at http://www.kitchener.ca/living_kitchener/village100.html. Identify Key Priorities Each group was asked to pick up their designated committees supplies and work with their group to write down three key items from their workplan as priorities. Once priorities were chosen, each group provided a very brief outline of their priorities for the other committees and placed their circle on the wall. Committee Connections As a group, the Committees were asked to choose two key connections where they felt their group would clearly link with another on key priorities. Committee Collaboration Once lines were drawn, it was clear that many committees connect with eachother and there are areas where collaboration can take place. Each attendee was asked to return to their committee with an update on the day’s events and to further consider committee collaboration. ACTION: Each committee was asked to consider planning to connect with one or more other committees to further explore overlaps related to their priorities.
