Weylie and Members of the Development and Technical Services Committee DATE OF MEETING: December 7, 2009 SUBMITTED BY: Tim Beckett, Fire Chief PREPARED BY: Tim Beckett, Fire Chief WARD(S) INVOLVED: None DATE OF REPORT: November 23, 2009 REPORT NO.: DTS-09-176 SUBJECT: voolwich Fire Dispatch Agreement RECOMMENDATION: "That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute an agreement with the Corporation of the Township of Woolwich to provide fire dispatch service to Woolwich for a term of two years commencing January 1, 2010, said agreement to be satisfactory to the City Solicitor" REPORT: This agreement is a renewal of a previous 5 year agreement. The two year term allows the fire department to bring all dispatch agreements in line for renewal in 2012. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The agreement provides for an annual fee for service of $34,276.46 based upon the previous 2009 contract rate, plus a 2010 rate increase of 3.00%. The annual fee for the remaining year of the two year term shall be the annual fee for 2010 adjusted and at the commencement of each year to reflect the percentage increase in call volume of the previous year (1 % rate increase for each 10% in call volume increase) or by any increase during the previous expiring year in actual dispatch operating costs or the CPI (Consumer Price Index), whichever is greater.
