SUBJECT:
CYCLING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
RECOMMENDATION:
That Michael Arges be appointed to the Cycling Advisory Committee for the term
expiring November 30, 2010.
BACKGROUND:
The Cycling Advisory Committee began its first term on January 1, 2009 with 12 members,
including Councillor Gazzola. Two members of the committee have resigned their positions for
various reasons since that time. The Committee felt that it would be in the best interest of the
Cycling Advisory Committee to find replacements for the positions that are vacant.
REPORT:
Michael Arges approached Ronald Schirm at the Cycling Summit in Waterloo in October 2009
and indicated interest in joining the Committee. He subsequently submitted a letter to the
Cycling Advisory Committee formally applying for a position with the Committee. His application
was considered at the December 8 meeting. The Committee voted unanimously to recommend
that he become a member of the Committee. The Committee then directed the Committee
Administrator, Ronald Schirm, to follow the relevant protocol to instate Michael Arges to the
Cycling Advisory Committee.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
