SUBJECT:
2010 STREET VENDOR BY-LAW
RECOMMENDATION:
That a by-law to licence Street Vendors in the City of Kitchener be prepared for Council’s
consideration on February 1, 2010, based on the proposed draft by-law attached to Corporate
Services Report CRPS-10-009.
BACKGROUND:
Street Vendors have been licensed to operate on city property for the past 20 years. The 2009
Street Vendors By-law expired on December 31, 2009. Therefore, a new by-law has been
prepared for the 2010 season.
REPORT:
A 5.2% fee increase for the street cart vendors and popcorn and confections vendors is being
recommended. The increase has been established to remain consistent with all other types of
business licences whose fees were increased 5.2% in 2010.
