BACKGROUND: Natural gas system leak survey work is an ongoing preventive maintenance measure, to ensure the safety of the citizens of Kitchener. The proactive approach is to circumvent any gas leakage before the accumulations become a hazard to public safety. REPORT: Tenders were advertised publicly in The Record, on the City of Kitchener website and the Internet through the Ontario Public Buyers Electronic Tendering Information System. Four (4) potential bidders picked up tender documents, and by the closing date of Thursday February 4, 2010, two (2) tenders had been received. The following tenders were received: G-Tel Engineering London ON Hetek Solutions Inc. London ON $91,225.00 $99,910.00 The tenders were reviewed by B. Nash, Manager Customer Service and S. Rudak, Buyer, who concur with the above recommendation. 1 vii) - 1 FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funding will be provided from operating account #5018170, Gas Delivery Admin, Admin.
