Article 2 GENERAL PROHIBITION 712.2.1 Discharge-within permitted area only No person shall discharge any cross-bow or long-bow except within the per- mitted area.By-law 2006-110, 8 May,2006. Article 3 EXEMPTIONS 712.3.1 Peace officer-performance of duties Article 2 shall not operate so as to prevent the use of a cross-bow or long-bow by a peace officer in the performance of his or her duties as such. 712.3.2 Pioneer Sportsman's Club-member-guest Article 2 shall not operate so as to prevent the use of a cross-bow or long-bow by a member or guest of the Pioneer Sportsman's Club on the pre- mises of such club.By-law 91-311, 30 September, 1991. 712.3.3 Archery-programs- sponsors- set out Article 2 shall not operate so as to prevent the use of a cross-bow or long-bow when used in an archery program conducted by: (a) The Waterloo Region District School Board; (b) The Waterloo Catholic District School Board;or (c) any educational institution under the jurisdiction of the Minis- try of Education or the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. By-law 91-311, 30 September, 1991; By-law 2001-224, 26 November,2001. 712.3.4 Manufacturer-retailer-testing-trial Article 2 shall not operate so as to prevent the use of a cross-bow or long-bow when used by a manufacturer or retailer of cross-bows or long-bows for testing or trial while on the premises of the manufacturer or retailer. JUNE 2006 712.2 KITCHENER 712.4.1 CROSS-BOWS-LONG-BOWS 712.4.1 Article 4 ENFORCEMENT 712.4.1 Fine-for contravention Every person who contravenes any provision of this Chapter is guilty of an offence and is liable,upon conviction,to a fine not exceeding Five Thousand Dollars($5,000),exclusive of costs,for each offence,recoverable under the Provincial Offences Act.
