<br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Chapter 25 <br /> <br />PROCEDURE <br /> <br /> <br />Article 1 <br />INTERPRETATION <br /> <br />1.1 City - defined <br />“City” means the City of Kitchener. <br /> <br />1.2 Clerk - defined <br />“Clerk” means the City Clerk of the City of Kitchener or appointed designate. <br /> <br />1.2.1 Committee - defined <br />“committee” means any advisory or other committee, subcommittee or similar entity <br />composed of members of one or more councils. <br /> <br />1.3 Committee Chair - defined <br />“Committee Chair” means Chair of any committee of the Council. <br /> <br />1.4 Committee of the Whole - defined <br />“Committee of the Whole” means all the members present sitting in committee. <br /> <br />1.5 Council - defined <br />“Council” means the Council of the City of Kitchener. <br /> <br />1.6 Local board - defined <br />“local board” means a local board as defined in the Municipal Affairs Act, except municipal <br />police services boards, library boards and school boards. <br /> <br />1.7 Mayor - defined <br />“Mayor” means the Mayor as the Head of Council, or in the absence of the Mayor, or <br />Acting Mayor, in the absence of both, another Member of Council appointed in <br />accordance with Section 17 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001. <br />1.8 Meeting - defined <br />“meeting” means any regular, special, or other meeting of council, of a local board or of <br />a committee of either of them, where: <br />(a) A quorum of members is present, and <br />(b) Members discuss or otherwise deal with any matter in a way that materially <br />advances the business or decision-making of the council, local board or committee <br /> <br /> <br />KITCHENER 25.1 MAY 2022 <br /> <br />
